Search engines are limited to crawling the site and analyzing content contained therein. Search engines like humans do not see sites. In this section, we focus on the technical aspects of creating web pages that work well for both search engines and humans. Share this chapter with developers, network administrators, and site designers to coordinate all the technical units of your website.

Indexable content

In order to be able to perform better in the search engines list, your content must be in HTML format. In spite of the improvements in search engine technology, images, flash files, Java code and other non-text content are often ignored by search engines and are not worthwhile for search engine crawlers. The easiest way to make sure that the words and phrases you show to visitors are searched by search engines is to put them in HTML text format. Of course, for people looking for better format or visual display style, there are also more advanced methods:
  1. Make your Alt tag for your pictures. If you have an image in your content, it’s better to assign the Alt tag to it to be visible in search engines. In this situation, your image is described with a textual content, and if the user searches for these keywords in your search engine, they will surely find your content.
  2. Equip your search boxes to crawl links.
  3. Complete the Flash or Java plugins with text.
  4. Copy audio and video files. If you like the words and phrases you have used in your audio or video file to be indexed in search engines, it’s better to include a text from it and include it on your site.
